Picasso and the Spanish Modernity - Strozzi Palace, Florence
In the minds of all Picasso appears as the major reference for modern Western art. The exhibition aims to show Picasso’s output in its influence on Spanish art: in its reflections about art; its encounter with “pure art”; the emergence of the monster with a human face; in the artist's commitment to the historic tragedy; and in the metaphor of erotic desire as a privileged source of creation and vision of the world. In this exhibition will be also presented the poetics of artists such as Juan Gris, Miró, Dalí, Maria Blanchard, Julio González.
